Awards & Distinctions

HSEO distinctions are awarded through a formal national ranking framework and documented in official competition records.

Distinction Tiers

Distinctions are awarded using fixed national percentile bands so that performance is clear and comparable across years.

Top 5%

Platinum Distinction

Awarded to participants in the highest national percentile band.

Top 15%

Gold Distinction

Recognizes nationally competitive performance in entrepreneurship assessment and strategy reasoning.

Top 30%

Silver Distinction

Awarded to participants meeting the official silver percentile threshold for the annual cycle.

Prize Pool Awards

HSEO may award up to a $5,000 total prize pool across the top three placements.

Up to $5,000 Total

  • 1st Place: Up to $2,500
  • 2nd Place: Up to $1,500
  • 3rd Place: Up to $1,000
  • Official title listed in final competition records
  • All participants receive a Certificate of Participation
  • Distinction level is clearly stated on official certificates

Final prizes depend on participation and are funded from registration revenue.

Prize Pool Policy

  • The maximum total prize pool is $5,000.
  • The final prize pool will equal 65% of total registration fees collected.
  • Prize amounts shown for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place are maximum payouts.
  • If the final prize pool is less than $5,000, prizes will be scaled proportionally across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based on the 50% / 30% / 20% split.
  • If registration is too low to reasonably run the competition, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the event and issue full refunds.
