Terms of Service

These Terms govern use of the HSEO website and participation in HSEO competition programs.

1. Scope and Acceptance

By accessing this website, registering for HSEO, or submitting competition materials, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

  1. Participants must provide complete and accurate registration information.
  2. Account credentials must be kept confidential by coaches and students.
  3. HSEO may suspend or terminate access for inaccurate, fraudulent, or misleading account activity.

3. Academic Integrity and Original Work

  1. All responses, submissions, and scholarship materials must be original work by registered participants.
  2. Plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, or external assistance may result in disqualification.
  3. Integrity determinations made by HSEO are final.

4. Competition Operations and Scoring

  1. HSEO may adjust schedules, deadlines, and procedural rules when reasonably necessary.
  2. Late, incomplete, or non-compliant submissions may be excluded from scoring.
  3. Official rankings and awards are released after moderation and verification.
  4. If participants or teams are tied on score, the tie will be broken by the faster test completion time.

5. Data Use and Communications

  1. Submitted information is used to administer registration, competition access, and results communications.
  2. HSEO may send operational messages related to deadlines, credentials, and participation status.
  3. HSEO may publish anonymized aggregate data (for example, participation totals by year or region).

6. Policy Changes and Contact

HSEO may revise these Terms periodically. Continued use of the website or competition portal after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
